While it bears the name of our leading corporate sponsor, the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation is a registered non-profit organization originally formed by Blackcomb Skiing Enterprises in 1992 to enhance the Mountain’s role as a supporter of the community. While the name changed to the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation in 1997 to reflect the merger of the two mountains, the Foundation’s goal has not. Through the corporate support of Whistler Blackcomb, Vail Resorts Epic Promise, TELUS, and the support of numerous businesses and individuals, the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation plays a unique and significant role in supporting the communities of the Sea to Sky Corridor.
Under the direction of the Foundation’s President David Krasny, Vice-President Doug Forseth, and Executive Director, Mei Madden, the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation has raised over 22 million dollars for Registered Sea to Sky Charities making it the largest fundraising organization in the area. Our mandate is to support larger, more everlasting community projects within the Sea to Sky Corridor, as well as to build a stronger relationship with residents of the community. The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation is dedicated to providing financial support to organizations whose activities provide benefit to residents of the Sea to Sky Corridor in the areas of health, human services, education, recreation, arts & culture and the environment with a special emphasis placed on youth and family programs.
A sell-out since its introduction in 1998, the Founders Pass is the primary fundraising vehicle for the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation. With a generous donation from Vail Resorts EpicPromise, the Program has doubled in size in recent years, now raising 1.25 million dollars annually for Sea to Sky community charities, through the sale of 100 VIP WB season passes.
Please note: The Founders Pass Program is currently full and we are not accepting additional waitlist members at this time. Please visit this page for any updates in the future.
